Besi Putih market, also known as Gamalama, in Ternate, North Maluku, is a center for jewelry crafted by traditional artisans from around the region.
The usual fare of bracelets, necklaces and rings are sold at the market, but perhaps the most interesting items are made from parts of salvaged wrecks of ships and planes from World War II found in nearby waters of Morotai.
