Fans painted Gelora Bung Karno Stadium red and white for Indonesia’s second leg of the Asean Football Federation Cup final against Malaysia on Wednesday night.Some supporters even painted their faces — as well as other parts of their bodies. Although many were shocked by Indonesia’s 3-0 loss in the first leg of the final in Kuala Lumpur on Dec. 26, fans didn’t let the team’s diminished chances dampen their spirits going into Wednesday’s game. Despite losing the final to Malaysia on aggregate, the Merah Putih team still managed to pull off a 2-1 victory in the second leg, providing some small measure of consolation to the wildly enthusiastic home crowd of more than 100,000 supporters, who packed the stadium for the chance to cheer on their team.
