Last weekend, July 16-17, Ternate played host to the North Maluku Arts and Culture Festival, which showcased the eastern Indonesian province’s creative heritage.
The festival, which drew crowds from across the archipelago, featured a demonstration of sailing at Morotai, the traditional game Bambu Gila (Mad Bamboo) from North Halmahera and the famous Cakalele dance.
