Every morning and evening, the railway at Rawa Buaya station in Cengkareng District, Duri Kosambi Village, West Jakarta, fills with people lying across the tracks.
No, they aren’t trying to be run over by a train. They believed the rail’s electric current cures various diseases, so they press their bodies against the rail to feel a small vibration. Some intensify the sensation by drenching themselves and the tracks with water. The benefits of the “therapy” are not scientifically proven.
