Over the past three weeks, political political parties took their campaigns to the streets of major Indonesian cities in the run up to legislative elections.
A total of 38 political parties with more than 11.200 candidates are vying for 560 seats up for grabs in the House of Representatives, or DPR. Each party has to secure at least 2,5 percent of the nationwide vote in order to earn a right to have is elected cadre sit in the House. With stakes so high, parties pulled out all the stops and campaigned with songs and dancers and bucket loads of face paint. April 9 will tell which ones left significant impression on voters.
